25 Best Beaches & Beach Clubs Around Marbella

Discover the Best Beaches & Beach Clubs Around Marbella

When we bought our StayatSas apartment in Marbella, we quickly discovered that no two beaches or beach clubs are the same. Some beaches are perfect for a peaceful morning walk or a relaxing family beach day, while others are known for their lively atmosphere, luxury beach clubs and long lunches overlooking the Mediterranean.

Over the years, we have personally visited many beaches and beach clubs in and around Marbella, not just once, but several times and in different seasons. We now know where to go for a peaceful beach day, where parking is easiest, which Marbella beach clubs are genuinely worth visiting and which places, in our opinion, are mainly famous for their name.

A useful tip before you go: if you visit Marbella during the high season, especially July and August, and sometimes June and September, popular beaches and beach clubs can fill up quickly. We recommend arriving at the beach before 11:00 am, when parking is easier and you still have a good choice of spots. Planning a day at a beach club? Always book in advance, particularly during high season. Sunbeds typically cost around €20–€30 per person, depending on the beach club, location and season. Some include a towel or welcome drink, but this varies by venue.

In this guide, we share our favourite beaches and beach clubs around Marbella, along with practical local tips you won’t always find in standard travel guides. From peaceful beaches and authentic chiringuitos to some of the best luxury beach clubs in Marbella, we cover a wide range of options. We also highlight which beaches and beach clubs are closest to the StayatSas holiday apartment in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, making it easy to plan your beach days during your stay.

We hope this guide helps you find the perfect place for your ideal beach day in Marbella. And if you’re still looking for somewhere to stay, discover our StayatSas holiday apartment in Marbella and book directly with us for the best price and personal service.

Our Favourite Beach Clubs Around Marbella

A beach day in Marbella is not really complete without a visit to a beach club. But just like the beaches themselves, we quickly discovered that no two beach clubs are the same. Some are all about peace, great food and relaxing in the sun, while others are known for luxury sunbeds, cocktails, live music and a lively atmosphere.

Over the years, we have visited many beach clubs along the coast in and around Marbella and Puerto Banús. Some we return to regularly for a long lunch overlooking the Mediterranean, while others are perfect for a relaxing beach day or an afternoon that slowly turns into an evening out. There are also famous beach clubs that are popular mainly because of their name, but that we personally would be less likely to recommend.

In this guide, we share our personal favourite beach clubs around Marbella and Puerto Banús, from places within walking distance of StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía to beautiful beach clubs further along the Costa del Sol. For each beach club, we explain what to expect, who it is best suited to, what the atmosphere is like, approximately how much a sunbed costs and whether booking in advance is essential. We also share practical tips we wish we had known before our first visits.

We hope this guide helps you find the Marbella beach club that best suits your ideal holiday. Whether you are looking for a relaxed lunch by the Mediterranean, a stylish beach club with comfortable sunbeds or a lively place where the music gets louder as the afternoon goes on, there is something for everyone.

Good to know: During high season, from June to September, the most popular beach clubs in Marbella and Puerto Banús can be fully booked days or even weeks in advance. If you want to be sure of a sunbed or a table for lunch, always book ahead. Sunbeds typically cost between €20 and €30 per person during high season, depending on the beach club, location and any events. Some beach clubs include a towel and a bottle of water, while others charge separately.

Mistral Beach Marbella

Mistral Beach Marbella
Our experience

Mistral Beach is probably the beach club we visit most often on a spontaneous day out. Not because it is the most luxurious or famous beach club in Marbella, but because everything here simply works. The atmosphere is relaxed, the beach is wide and its location close to Puerto Banús makes it an ideal choice for an easy beach day.

We especially enjoy coming here for a long lunch that naturally turns into an afternoon by the Mediterranean. The service is friendly, the music stays pleasantly in the background and the whole place feels less crowded than some of Marbella’s better known beach clubs. If you are not looking for an extravagant party but prefer a stylish and relaxed beach day near Puerto Banús, Mistral Beach is an excellent choice.

La Sala by the Sea

Our experience

La Sala by the Sea is probably one of the best known beach clubs in Marbella and enjoys a beautiful beachfront location close to Puerto Banús. The beach club has a stylish Asian inspired design with comfortable sunbeds, plenty of greenery and an atmospheric restaurant. It is a great place for a long lunch or a relaxing afternoon by the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is lively, but during the day it is certainly not too extravagant. The crowd tends to be slightly younger and is predominantly British.

Later in the afternoon, it often becomes busier and livelier, especially during high season. If you are looking for a beach club near Puerto Banús where you can lounge, enjoy good food and gradually ease into a holiday atmosphere, La Sala by the Sea is an excellent choice in our opinion.

We love coming here when we feel like a long, unhurried lunch overlooking the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is typically Spanish and feels less touristy than many of the beach clubs around Puerto Banús.

Do not expect big DJs or luxury VIP beds. Instead, Los Espigones is all about a relaxed beach day, good food, friendly service and a welcoming local atmosphere. For us, it is one of those places where you easily end up staying much longer than you originally planned

For us, Pedro’s Beach is one of the best beach restaurants close to StayatSas Marbella and Puerto Banús if your main priority is relaxation. Ocean Club Marbella

Ocean Club Marbella
Our experience

Ocean Club Marbella is without doubt one of the most iconic beach clubs in Puerto Banús, Marbella, and perhaps even in Spain. Expect luxury, music and an international atmosphere rather than a quiet beach day. Large white sunbeds, champagne, stylish interiors and an impressive swimming pool make Ocean Club a popular choice for anyone looking for a luxury beach club experience in Marbella.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, Ocean Club is around 20 minutes on foot or just 5 minutes by car. We do not usually come here for a quiet day on a sunbed, but our children love the atmosphere. If you want to treat yourself to a glamorous day in Puerto Banús, Ocean Club is definitely a special experience. The crowd is generally somewhat younger.

Less suitable as... Whether you are looking for a quiet beach day and are travelling with young children, you have a limited budget or you prefer to be right by the sea; many guests choose the swimming pool precisely for these reasons.

StayatSas Tip

Do you really want to experience Ocean Club as it was meant to be? Then book a sunbed or cabana on a Saturday or Sunday when an event or DJ is scheduled. Do bear in mind, though, that prices are significantly higher then and booking is often necessary weeks in advance.

Our conclusion

For us, Ocean Club is one of the best beach clubs in Puerto Banús if you want to treat yourself to a luxurious and lively day during your holiday in Marbella. It is not where we go when we are looking for peace and quiet, but it is a great choice for a special occasion or if you want to experience the glamorous side of Puerto Banús. And from StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, it is only around 20 minutes on foot.

El Chiringuito – Puente Romano Beach Resort

El Chiringuito – Puente Romano Beach Resort
Our experience

El Chiringuito at Puente Romano is one of the beach clubs in Marbella we recommend most often when guests ask us: “Where can we have a really good lunch by the beach?” Located at Puente Romano on Marbella’s Golden Mile, between Marbella and Puerto Banús, it combines stylish surroundings with relaxed luxury. You literally sit with your feet in the sand, the service is professional and the food is consistently excellent.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, El Chiringuito is around 8 minutes by car or taxi. We especially like coming here for a long lunch that slowly turns into drinks by the Mediterranean. During high season, the music gradually becomes livelier later in the afternoon. Do not expect an extravagant party like Ocean Club, but rather a stylish and lively Marbella atmosphere where you often end up staying longer than planned.

  • A parasol is included; towels are usually included when you hire sun loungers.

  • Music
  • Relaxing lounge music from the morning onwards. From around 3.00–4.00 pm (particularly at weekends and during the high season), the music becomes a bit livelier. It’s not really a party beach club, but it does have a cosy holiday atmosphere.

Especially at weekends, it often gets busier later on. Although it is common in Spain to start lunch around 2:30 pm, we prefer to start a little earlier here.

Our conclusion

If we had to recommend just one beach club in Marbella for a stylish lunch by the sea, El Chiringuito at Puente Romano would be high on our list. It is not the cheapest option, but the combination of its beachfront location on the Golden Mile, excellent food, professional service and relaxed luxury makes it one of our favourite all round beach clubs on the Costa del Sol. From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, it is only around 8 minutes by car.

La Milla

Our experience

La Milla Marbella is one of our favourite places for a stylish lunch by the sea. This well known beach restaurant is located directly on Playa de Nagüeles on Marbella’s Golden Mile, between Marbella and Puerto Banús, and feels quieter and more refined than many of the better known beach clubs in Marbella.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, La Milla is around 10 minutes by car or taxi. The food is certainly on the expensive side, but the beachfront location is beautiful. Especially if you book a table for a late lunch or early dinner overlooking the Mediterranean, you quickly understand why La Milla is so popular. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and the overall experience feels high quality. This is also a place where many guests come specifically for lunch or dinner rather than for a day on the beach.

Trocadero Playa

Our experience

When people talk about Trocadero in Marbella, it is useful to know that there are several Trocadero locations, including Trocadero Playa, Trocadero Petit Playa and Trocadero Arena. For guests staying with us, Trocadero Playa Marbella is usually the one we recommend. It is located directly on Marbella’s Golden Mile, between Marbella and Puerto Banús.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, Trocadero Playa is around 8 minutes by car or taxi. The atmosphere is relaxed and chic, combining luxury with an informal Mediterranean feel. We especially enjoy coming here for a long lunch, followed by a few relaxing hours on a sunbed by the sea.

Two Marbella beach clubs by the same Belgian owner: Oyana Beach and Luuma Beach

Before we introduce two of our personal favourites, it is worth knowing that Luuma Beach Marbella and Oyana Beach Marbella have the same Belgian owner. You notice it immediately when visiting both beach clubs. They share a stylish Ibiza inspired design, attention to detail, comfortable sunbeds and a relaxed atmosphere where good food and hospitality take centre stage.

Yet each beach club has its own character, which is exactly why we visit them for different reasons.

Oyana Beach

Oyana Beach
Our experience

Out of all the beach clubs in Marbella, Oyana Beach is probably our personal favourite. We have visited many beach clubs by now, but in the end, this is still the one we love coming back to most. Why? Because everything just hits the spot.

The atmosphere is relaxed without being boring, the décor is stunning, the service is friendly and, as far as we’re concerned, the food is among the best on this side of Marbella. Whilst some beach clubs are all about being seen, Oyana feels much more laid-back. You can tell that people really come here to spend a lovely day by the sea.

We prefer to start here with a leisurely lunch and then just stay put until the late afternoon. To be honest, that happens almost every single time.

Luuma Beach

Our experience

Luuma Beach Marbella feels like the slightly livelier sister of Oyana Beach. You immediately recognise the same attention to design, service and atmosphere, but Luuma feels a little more modern and vibrant. Its stylish Ibiza inspired setting also makes it a popular spot for guests looking for a photogenic beach club in Marbella.

Personally, we usually choose Oyana when we want a very peaceful beach day. If you prefer a little more atmosphere without going to a full party beach club, Luuma Beach is an excellent alternative in Marbella.

Oyana Beach Of all the beach clubs in Marbella we have visited, Oyana Beach Marbella is probably our personal favourite. We have tried many beach clubs along the Costa del Sol, but this is the one we keep coming back to. Why? Because everything simply feels right. The atmosphere is relaxed without being boring, the setting is beautiful, the service is friendly and the food is among the best we have had at a beach club in Marbella. While some Marbella beach clubs are mainly about partying and being seen, Oyana Beach feels much more relaxed. It is a place where people genuinely come to enjoy a beautiful day by the Mediterranean. From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, Oyana Beach is around 20 minutes by car. We like to start with a long lunch and then stay on our sunbeds until late afternoon. It is exactly the kind of relaxed beach day we love during our own stays in Marbella.

La Plage Casanis

Our experience

La Plage Casanis is one of our favourite beach clubs in East Marbella. As soon as you arrive, you notice how much attention has been paid to the atmosphere. The stylish interior, comfortable sunbeds and relaxed setting create an Ibiza inspired feel, but right here on the Costa del Sol.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, La Plage Casanis is around 20 minutes by car. We especially enjoy coming here for a long lunch that effortlessly turns into a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Nikki Beach Marbella

Nikki Beach Marbella
Our experience

Nikki Beach Marbella is one of the best known beach clubs in Marbella and on the Costa del Sol, with an international reputation for luxury beach days, music and events. Located directly on the beach in Elviria, East Marbella, it combines luxury sunbeds, champagne, live music, DJs and an international atmosphere. The location, stylish setting and service are all of a high standard.

From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, Nikki Beach is around 20 minutes by car. We personally would not choose it first for a quiet beach day, because the experience here is much more about atmosphere, music and entertainment. During well known events such as Amazing Sundays, Nikki Beach becomes a true party beach club. If that is what you are looking for, it is a special Marbella experience. If you mainly want to relax by the sea, we personally prefer some of the quieter beach clubs in this guide.

Siroko Beach

Siroko Beach
Our experience

If you ask us which beach club in Marbella we visit most often ourselves, the answer is Siroko Beach. We have visited many beach clubs in and around Marbella over the years, but this is one we keep coming back to.

What we love about Siroko Beach Marbella is its relaxed holiday atmosphere. It is not about extravagant luxury or being seen, but about good food, friendly service and enjoying a beautiful day by the Mediterranean. For us, it offers exactly the right balance between a stylish beach club and a genuinely relaxed beach day.

We especially love coming here on Sundays, when there is often live music and the atmosphere gradually becomes livelier during the afternoon. It is nothing like the big party atmosphere at Ocean Club or Nikki Beach. Instead, people enjoy long lunches, a glass of wine and live music overlooking the sea. From StayatSas Marbella in Nueva Andalucía, Siroko Beach is around 20 minutes by car.

Practical Tips for a Beach Day in Marbella

After spending years in Marbella, we have learned that a few simple tips can make a big difference. Especially in summer, a little preparation can save you time and help you get more out of your beach day in Marbella.

Book Marbella Beach Clubs in Advance

Visiting Marbella in June, July, August or September? Book popular beach clubs such as Siroko Beach, Oyana Beach, Nikki Beach, Ocean Club and La Plage Casanis well in advance. Especially at weekends and on Sundays, the most popular sunbeds can be fully booked days or even weeks ahead. During high season, we recommend booking both lunch tables and sunbeds as early as possible.

Go to the Beach Early

We recommend arriving at the beach or beach club by around 11:00. Parking is easier, you have a better choice of sunbeds and you can enjoy a peaceful morning by the sea.

How Much Do Sunbeds Cost in Marbella?

At most public beaches in Marbella, sunbeds cost around €20 to €35 in high season, often including a parasol. Luxury beach clubs usually charge more and may offer complete bed packages or require a minimum spend. Always check current prices directly with the beach club before visiting.

You May Not Need to Bring a Beach Towel

At most public beaches, towels are not included when you rent a sunbed, but several beach clubs do include them. In this guide, we explain what you can expect at each beach club.

Parking at Marbella Beaches in Summer

Outside the high season, parking is usually not a problem. In July and August, however, parking near popular Marbella beaches and beach clubs can fill up quickly. Leave early or take a taxi if you are planning a long lunch or cocktails.

Protect Yourself from the Sun

The sun on the Costa del Sol is stronger than many people expect. Always use plenty of sunscreen, wear sunglasses and a hat or cap. Between 13:00 and 16:00, the sun is at its strongest, with the UV index often between 9 and 11 in summer.

Bring Both Cash and a Payment Card

You can pay by debit or credit card almost everywhere, but cash can still be useful at some smaller chiringuitos or beach rentals.

Combine a Marbella Beach Day with Lunch by the Sea

Our favourite beach days in Marbella usually start with a few hours relaxing on a sunbed, followed by a long lunch by the sea. Afterwards, we like to relax for a little longer or take a walk along the beach. For us, that is the perfect way to make the most of a day on the Marbella coast.
